My first restaurant... D Squared
Hello everyone, and welcome to my first restaurant critique post. My first subject is "D Squared" in Springfield, TN. It is a locally owned breakfast and lunch cafe. It is a cute little space on a courthouse square. I have been for breakfast and lunch. To start, I must say I went on their opening day, so I will give them a small bit of leeway as theyhad not yet worked out some minor kinks. The first thing I realized, was this: If wanting to be known as a great family restaurant, you must have food for the adults, as well as the children. Sadly, they were lacking a children's menu altogether. Although they had a few things on the menu children might like, alot of kids these days are used to chicken nuggets and cereal. The majority of selections on the "D Squared" menu were mot things children would want. So, that is a weakness, but, as I said before, they need to fix a few things for long term service. I thoroughly enjoyed their Blueberry Pancakes made wth fresh, local grown blueberries. The pricing was good, with maybe a few little things that could be lowered. Overall, the whole breakfast experience was very enjoyable. During lunch on their second day of business, I had a homeade Chicken Pot Pie. The crust was to die for, and their vegetable and chicken were cooked to perfection. It was delicious.Their Strawberry Spinach salad was very good. Although mine and my guests' meals were great, one of my guests had a produce sticker on her tomato which the chefs failed to take off. At other restaurants, you would get in very much trouble for that. The owner came and apoligized.Overall, the whole restaurant seems to be getting up and running very well, and I hope to see it succeed in the future. I woul reccomend you to go there and try it for yourself. For now, The Teen Foodie has spoken her piece. Thanks for reading! Your Humble Chef... Taylor :)
